Pilots: ‘Cougar Town,’ Kelsey Grammer Get Green Light

admin     News & Rumors, Projects     Comments Off on Pilots: ‘Cougar Town,’ Kelsey Grammer Get Green Light

ABC greenlit a slew of pilots on Wednesday, including the Courteney Cox-Bill Lawrence project “Cougar Town,” a project starring Kelsey Grammer and one from Cedric the Entertainer.

Four other comedies, including a remake of the British show “No Heroics,” also have earned pilot orders over the last couple days, the showbiz trade papers report.

Here’s a rundown:

“Cougar Town” stars Cox as a 40ish woman with a teenage son who finds herself single and dating again. The show grew out of Cox’s guest stint on “Scrubs” earlier this season. Lawrence wrote the pilot with fellow “Scrubs” scribe Kevin Biegel.
